Issue with unauthorised automatic payments

I found out tonight that an automatic payment set up for my Stan subscription - monthly charge - began deducting an extra payment. So it was being deducted fortnightly since September last year. This was never authorised by me & my Stan payment history does not note the extra payments.

With busy lives in the last 6 months, no-one in my household noticed the extra emails saying a payment was deducted until tonight as I had cancelled the subscription.

I tried to raise a dispute, however was kicked out of my account and it didn't complete.

Has this happened to anyone & who is required to refund those payments? Paypal who recorded the extra payments, or Stan who got the money but with no record of it?

Thanks..

Hi, I have a similar issue in which PayPal is completely not taking action. Someone logged into my account, added the contact, and the delivery address of another country and placed the order. I got notified by PayPal of unusual account activity based on which I realised unauthorised order was placed. I created the case with PayPal twice however they just close it mentioning 'We've reviewed your unauthorised activity case, and determined that there was no unauthorised use of your PayPal account.'.
