I paid for an item but the seller got covid so he can't give me the item since he was supposed to come back today but can't fly back because covid, I have buyer protection. He asked if I can wait a little longer or he can just refund me. How long will PayPal protect me for and should I wait or just ask for a refund. As I need to wait for him to get better and fly back to send the item. Idk how long PayPal will protect me for either. I would like to ask the community for help ty

Hey there @MikeyGon,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the PayPal Community Forum!
I completely understand how this must be a concerning situation.
You have PayPal Buyer Protection for 180-days following the transaction date.
If you have not received your order, you can open up a case for Item Not Received using the link above supplied by @kernowlass, thanks @kernowlass 🙂
I hope this helps, have a nice day.
Rebecca
