Hi,

A few days ago was contacted by email to provide some data elements to paypal. sent a few and contacted costumer service by phone to understand the situation, they told me it would be solved without problems. One day later I receive one email indicating my account and all funds permanently limited. I have been working with Paypal for over 10 years without issues and now this brikwall. How can one appeal as none of the contacts seem to help.

Thanks

Paypal can't dip in to your bank or card accounts (thank goodness) without your authorisation.

So in the event of a buyer dispute after a permanent limitation they keep any funds in your balance available so that they can use them to refund any buyers that win disputes.

If you have 'several accounts' then that could be why you were banned ??

You are only allowed 2 paypal accounts and only then if x1 is personal and the other x1 is a business account.

Also if you try and open another paypal account it would be closed as well as they would be linked by your address and personal information and its you that has the ban unfortunately and not just the one account.

Hi, I received an email this morning saying " Status of your PayPal money We're holding money in reserve to cover any possible account liabilities because of your account limitation. We'll review your account monthly and release your money in between 30 and 180 days. You can see the details of this money when you log in to your PayPal account. Click Pending balance from the Summary. You have money available to transfer. You can transfer it directly to your bank account. To access released money, log in to your account to make a transfer. You can transfer money to your bank account (https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/money/balances/withdraw?v=1&utm_source=unp&utm_medium=email&utm_cam...) . If your balance shows an amount owing to us because of a limitation, we may try to cover it from the reserve amount." What does this mean? Does it mean I can withdraw my money?

I don’t have any other PayPal accounts but obviously it’s not beyond the wit of man to create them. I wouldn’t want to do so because it may cause trouble. I’m sure that dishonest people do so. It’s honest people that are inconvenienced

You won't find an answer here on why you got banned, PayPal has in its clause that it has its rights to not give you the reason, which in my honest opinion, is straight up bs for any company. Getting an actual support is another set of hurdles to hoop through where ultimately you would be told the same thing. I wouldn't waste my time and effort finding out why as I tried it myself through sending in complaints and asking through DM on twitter. I pretty much know why I got banned after thinking about it yet they wouldn't confirm it cuz of their trashy user agreement and don't give an option to fix it or set it straight for users that have been using their services for years without issues past that. Less customers and businesses using PayPal will sooner or later have to make the company restructure and potentially open up towards being more open as a "platform" for sending out and receiving payments - but until then, just stay away.

Yes I think you’re right. I’ve had to change all my regular payments already, eBay accepts Apple Pay now which is easier. I’ve changed everything to a Revolut virtual credit card so I won’t lose it and need to change them again. Uber now has that card too. I can use Western Union and MoneyGram to send money abroad. It doesn’t seem worth the effort to use PayPal.

I was also banned permanently over a year ago now after being with Paypal with no issues for over a decade, They also offered me no reason or explanation as to why they banned me and I also only used Paypal to buy things and send money overseas to friends.

I have tried multiple times to get them to reinstate my account as well as trying to find out why they banned me with no reason given or help. All this time PayPal has kept my information and has been using it to send me marketing information about products they themselves banned me from using. This is a blatant breach of advertising law and a breach of there own Opt-Out guidelines.

But its PayPal so they don't care and i doubt they even read any response's or emails because all i ever get is incoherent dribble on the phone or automated emails back from the Bot.

I have filed complaints with Papal only for them to send me back a generic response saying "We hope you are happy with the resolution" even though they haven't actually said anything to me  or resolved anything.

PayPal used to be good but now its just a joke of a company that is automated to the point where its useless trying to argue or explain anything because you may as well talk with a brick wall.

As for the Marketing that just hurts, to use a system for over a decade and then be banned only to have them rub it in by offering services THEY banned me from. This I am classing as Harassment and reporting it to the ASA

I have had enough.
