eBay Seller ADMITTED that the product Sold did not match his descriptions and were Fake products. Only AFTER i paid in full. Seller does not have any feedback, but i was reassured when i saw “moneyback guarantee” if Significantly Not as described. What are the Chances, I’ll get my money back? Is it a Risk…that he doesn’t have any feedback or am I Safe?

The “Money Back Guarantee” is eBay’s policy which is different from “PayPal buyer protection program”. The chances are good if you follow procedures and pay attention to the rules.

If you receive item not as described, open a eBay return request for not as described (fake, not authentic, counterfeit) within 30 days from estimated delivery date.

If you past the 30 day deadline at eBay, you have 180 days from payment date to open a dispute at PayPal for significantly not as described.

It is recommended to open a return request through eBay first and resolve the problem there, if you are within the 30 day deadline.

If you lose the eBay case, then you can open a PayPal dispute.

Do NOT open cases at eBay and PayPal at the same time!

Please read the links I provided so you know the steps and rules.

Best to keep communication in eBay messages/return request or in the PayPal dispute as it is part of evidence.

At eBay, seller is must accept a not as described return request, pay for return shipping costs (int’l order) or issuing a return label (domestic order) for buyer to return item for refund. If you run into problems with eBay return request, best to ask in the eBay Community Forum - Returns.

At PayPal, the buyer has to pay for return shipping for significantly not as described claims in order to get a refund.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
