I opened my account a few months ago, never used it, no bank account is linked. Upon opening I had to proof that I was who I said I was by sending a copy of my passport. Which I did. Then something went wrong, apparently. PayPal didn't provide any info. Apparently now my account is blocked? Limited? I don't know, because all paypal tells me is " You can no longer use Paypal" and that there was some activity on my account that resulted in me not being able to use the service.
When I try to close my account, I get an unexpected error. When I try it via a different way, I get an email that "there was a problem closing your account". That my account is either restricted, or blocked and to contact customer support, or check which action is required.
Under actions is just says "You can no longer use paypal, etc...". So i tried to contact customer support. Clicked on "send email", filled out the form, clicked on submit and got an "We're sorry, this page no longer exists" error.
I really want my account to be removed because this is the scammiest behaviour. NO explanation as to WHY my account is restricted or blocked. It now means my address/full name/ copy of passport/phone number are on the web without me being able to get it removed.
Please, can someone just close the account or at least tell me what the problem is???

Sadly you can't, Paypal limits the account to stop you removing anything from it.
They don't want you to be able to use anything linked to it to try and open another Paypal account against their rules.
Advice is voluntary.

After an exhausting search on their app, website and Google, I will gladly give everyone their Customer Support No[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]
They did nothing to help me...they wont allow me to close my PayPal acct as long as I have my Venmo acct still active. So thats a work-in-progress...you must close both accts or none. GOOD LUCK!
