I received an email from someone that is sending a big amount of money and I accepted the offer but the email say that : “Your payment will be deposited instantly into your PayPal once you complete the verification process via paybis. com…. verified charges: €136. 48“. Is that a thing? Should I do it or will I lose money ?

Hello @Elsoum03

Thanks for joining the PayPal Community and posting your question!

I understand you have been asked to complete a verification process and pay a fee before receiving money, and I'm sorry to hear that. Please do not provide them with any personal information or payments. If you clicked on the link in the email, please reset your PayPal password and run a virus and malware scan on your device. PayPal will never require you to pay a fee to verify your account. You will also never be charged an upfront fee. If you receive a Goods & Service transaction, you will have a fee assessed after you receive the payment, but that's to enable your seller protection. I recommend referring to our Help Center to learn more about common scams and how to spot fake PayPal emails by clicking on the hyperlinks I've included.

I hope this information helps, and stay safe!

- Meghan

The above advice is from a Paypal EMPLOYEE how much more 'sure' do you need to be?
