I have received what looks like an e-mail from PayPal claiming to be a receipt for an item that I have not bought, a Lebara Mobile Top-Up Voucher for £19.99. The transaction does not appear on my Paypal history, but there is a line at the bottom of the e-mail which says if you want a refund for this purchases to click here, it then takes me to anther page which asks for my address and credit card details before I can get a refund. Again, this looks like a genuine PayPal page. it was only when I couldn't enter my credit card details correctly as I use AmEx and it wouldn't accept my details that I suddenly became suspicious. On checking, the e-mail address does not look like a Paypal address at all.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing and is it a phishing e-mail, hoping to gather credit card details fraudulently? Srry if I sound naive but I have never experienced this before!
Thanks 🙂

I've just received one from skype.com with the same link
It looked like it was from paypal but sounded a bit dodgy so I checked the address it came from, it was 'paypaj'.

Hey guys,
Welcome to the Community!
It sounds to me that you have all received a phishing email trying to obtain your personal information. You should check to see if the email was addressed to your first and last name. Any time PayPal would send you an email, we would address it to your first and last name as it appears on your PayPal account.
We would never ask you to click on a link in an email in order to cancel a payment. If you think that the email you received may not have been sent to you by PayPal, could you please forward the email to us at spoof@paypal.com and then delete the email from your email inbox.
I hope this helps.
David.
