I opened a case as Items I received were fake. I escalated to a dispute with Paypal after no reply from seller. Paypal closed the dispute telling me to take it up with the seller, but they arent responding. What kind of protection is that?

Sounds odd, how did you pay? What option did you use?
Also if you get fake goods it may work for you to get a refund to tell the seller that unless he refunds you will be reporting him to trading standards unless you get a full refund as its against the law to sell fakes.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I paid via goods and services, reported it to PayPal as it was fake, and they gave the seller until 10/02/17 to respond. That was yesterday but the case has just been closed and they told me to contact the seller to resolve it. How can I resolve it when they won't reply to me? I'm now out of pocket and getting no help from PayPal

I got an email, even though I logged in yesterday (10/02) to check on the progress which told me the case had been automatically closed as I hadn't logged in by the 10th to escalate it. This is not good enough, I was told the seller had until the 10th to respond before PayPal stepped in, yet this tells me I should have escalated it by the 10th. PayPal are pathetic and offer no protection to anyone!!!
