Money-in after my bank account closure

Dear sir or madam,

I am now in China, and my bank account is in the UK. My Barclays card has been linked to my Paypal account and still is for now. Before I came back to China, I went to your bank to close my account just in case of any trouble in the future. However, I bought two items from eBay just before I came back. The transactions for these two were successful, but for some other reasons, these items have been returned and refunded via Paypal. I can see the refund on my PayPal account, but when I checked my Barclays account, I cannot see. So I am thinking where my money goes? Please help me out with this situation. Sorry for my action of bank closure, because I really did not know these items need to be returned at that time. If there is anything I can do to further convince you, I am more than happy to cooperate. I wish to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

Kirsten

Hi there Kirsten1111,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!

When a refund is issued, the payment will be reversed to the original funding source. If the payment was funded by your Credit Card, you will see the refund there. If the initial transaction was made from your PayPal account or your Bank Account, the refund will be issued to your PayPal balance. You can find more information here.

Hope this helps!

Martina
