I paid for an item, seller says its not marked as paid

I paid for an item which for some reason didnt show as paid, so I marked it as paid, apparently ebay cannot detect this as paid. The money was taken from  my paypal  account, the seller emailed me thanking me for payment and said they sent the item about 2 days after payment. I never received it so after numerous emails to them I asked for a refund.

Now they are saying and I quote " It does not show as paid, so I am assuming its been refunded, please can you log into your account and it should show refunded in paypal"

No 1: how can they assume because it would show in their account if its been refunded( I asked them to check this but no response)  and in my account, which it has NOT been

No 2: If the item does not show as paid why thank me for payment if they dont think i have paid, and why SEND the item although it wasnt marked as dispatched (and I know not everyone does that)?

Also my thankyou email seems to have disappeared from my messages??

I cant open a case as it says " this item hasnt been paid for yet"

I dont seem to be getting anywhere and things dont seem right, can anyone help?

There has been a problem with eBay checkout, it was paid, then that was reversed, if you want the item you will have to pay again, as you say there is no record of any payment now being made.

A little after I posted this message they emailed me saying they had searched for my  payment in their  paypal and refunded my money!!

 Thats all I wanted them to do in the first place!!

I'm presuming you paid by paypal?

If so first of all check in your paypal account to see if the payment has been taken from your acount, if it has contact the seller and explain that to them and ask them to check in their paypal to see if the payment is there.

If the payment has not been taken from your account then it hasnt been paid and you should go to "purchase history" in "my ebay" and complete the checkout procedure.

Any problems get back to me and I try to help if I can.

I've had a similar problem to this can you advise?

. Clicked Pay Now in items purchase History and payment immediately marked as paid without me accessing my PayPal account (this is my only authorised payment option).

. Attempted to pay again using Pay Now option on sellers you won email received error #50006 from ebay

. Checked my PayPal and bank account and item not paid for.

. Contacted ebay and they advised error is with paypal - I explained that I never actually went to the paypal page. No help from ebay.

. Have contacted seller and requested to pay direct from my Paypal as I would like the item.

First of all have you paid for other items with paypal or had any problems before?

In my case I asked the seller to check their paypal account as it had been taken from my account so it should be in theirs and it was.

I f you havent paid for anything else by paypal maybe you havent finished the full process you have to go through in order to pay and receive payment. 

Eg. as far as I am aware paypal deposit  a small amount of money to your bank account which you then have to enter in towards completion.

i paid for items and payment has been taken from my paypal/bank account.the seller says i havent paid for 1 of the items.

I bought 2 items the same and they were both paid for at same time.I am about to lose my account if i dont get this sorted

Does it say the payment is completed in your ppal account for the supposedly unpaid transaction?

Is this a private sale or Ebay?

Why will you lose your account?

yes the transaction was completed and the message was from ebay and it says if i dont pay by 24th june my account will be suspended
