Hello Paypallers!
Ok, I feel like a complete and utter tool writing this. But I really need some help.
I started selling just over a week or so ago.
The first item I sold, I had put the wrong email address in the listing - it was for an older account. So, in a panic, I started trying to reopen this old account to try and switch the money to my more recent account. Because I was sure what I was doing and was worried I would lose the payment, I decided to contact the buyer and offer him a refund and cancel the listing. I did these two things - or so I thought. Because that old account had been suspended (I had tried to log on a bunch of times using old passwords that I could remember so it must have looked really dodgy) I wasn't able to issue the refund.
Luckily, my most EXCELLENT buyer, who has swathes of common sense said,
"You have a payment from me. You have ther item I have paid for. Why don't you just send the item and cancel the refund?" What a BRILLIANT idea! BUT I had also cancelled the listing. Anyway, I sent the item and my buyer has received it and left feedback (which is very kind and positive given the circumstances!
So a couple things. 1st - regarding my old email address. I managed to get it verified and reactivated and it is now my proper email associated with my Paypal account - so that is all good. I removed my bank and credit card details from my other Paypal account and I'll just leave it.
I have sold a few other things and everything is fine and the payments to my account are pending bas my selling history increases.
But that very first payment is pending because i have requested a refund to my buyer that I now need to cancel.
Please tell this dimwit (ME) what I should do. (answers like stop using Paypal will be ignored. LOL)

You can't cancel a refunded payment.
If the refund processes back to the buyer then you can just ask them to re-pay it again BUT not via the auction or the same thing may happen if you had the old email addy on it, unless you have added and verified the old email addy to your new paypal account.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
