Frauded as a seller, case under review

I sold a camera to someone who said that their son forgot to change the address and they asked me if I can send it elsewhere. He paid for it, and the second day I dispatched the camera to the address mentioned by him. 2 Days after that, I noticed that the money are held and paypal opened a case about it. On ebay I contacted the buyer and he said he cancelled the order because his account was compromised and he was frauded and said that it wasn't him the one who ordered a camera and that he didn't sent me any messages regarding address. So I contacted PayPal and they told me that because my order had tracking number plus signature I will get my money back in 72 hours. I am concerned because it's been more that that already. I don't know what to do!

Normally you are only protected with seller protection if you post to the buyers paypal registered address.

So I am not 100% sure that what you were told was correct.

Yes but I have also proof that the buyer told me to send it there. When I called PayPal, they told me that I am under seller's protection because I did what I was asked to , and there is also proof and that I will get my money back in 72h but it's been one week already and the case it's still under review. 😞

Scammers ask you to send to their address rather than the real account holders, that is why paypal state this  >>

What are the eligibility requirements for PayPal seller protection?

You must meet all of these requirements to be covered:

  1. The transaction is not ineligible under section 11.10.
  2. The transaction must be marked by PayPal as eligible or partially eligible for PayPal seller protection on your Account “Transaction Details” page. If it is marked eligible, protection for both Unauthorised Payments and Item Not Received will apply. If it is marked partially eligible, protection for only Item Not Received will apply.
  3. For tangible items, post the item to the shipping address on the “Transaction Details” page. If the item is delivered in person or if the Payment Recipient posts the item to a different address (for example, if the buyer asks that you send to another address on the basis that it is a “work address” or a “gift” address) then you will not be eligible for re-imbursement under the terms of the programme.
