do I deserve a refund?

I put a deposit down 7-14 of $250 on a puppy to be delivered 8-2-11.  I found out today my home  went into escrow from my agent & am moving in 30 days.  I called the Breeder & she said I can not get my deposit back.  Today is 7-17, it's been 3 days.  Is that fair?

Sincerely,

aaovlc

If you want your money back go to your credit card or bank and file a chargeback or reversal

I am curious how this works. I have similar situation where seller will not refund money sent to them. Understand that payment to Paypal can be reversed this way.. But what will Paypal do then? retrieve money from seller? or place hold on my own paypal account? (or her paypal account in this case...) Thanks for any further advice/information you can provide. (Like is there a time limit to doing this? my transaction was almost 4 weeks ago, and seller will not reply to my emails, even though item was returned... Not purchased via ebay, but a cash tranbsaction via paypal to seller in my case)

I dont believe there is a time limit I have heard of chargebacks going through after 3 months or more.  The funds should be taken from the sellers account and put back in your credit card/bank/paypal.  I dont know about any holds though maybe someone else could shed some light
