Temporary Hold???

OK I canceled an item I brought on eBay cause they said it will take a month to ship it. So they said they'll send the refund in 24 to 48 hours, 30 hours later I got my refund....O part of it... Got my eBay bucks back but the rest of it is on hold! Why!? So I called papal so they can explain it and they said the refund was "placed and the seller has no money (power seller BTW no money (>.>))" so that why it was on hold. OK the refund was placed right when I canceled the transaction and 30 hours later I should of got all of it back. So the next day called papal again they said "O it will be released tonight!" .   So contacted the seller and they said the money's been taken out of they're account a while ago! Hmmmm did papal just lied to me? Stop holding my REFUND and everyone else's REFUND cause there is no reason to hold them!

Made a payment to a friends personal account instead of his business account on 10/5, only $50, he refunded the next day. Paypal took it out of my account the morning in 10/6. A hold was put on the refund of $50, even though my friend never pulled, never withdrew the payment and he had made an immediate refund. I saw the refund come through and was notified by email that I had money. So Paypal had my money . I certainly don't mind waiting a few days, but with today's  rapid transfer of funds ( my money in a day) I think they would have a more effecient process. it has 7 full days since the money was refunded. Seems excessive for such a small amount. Especially since I have been a client Ebay/Paypal since 1997 and they have made far more than $50 off of me.

I made a debit from my paypal which then debited my bank for a purchse online.I ask for a refund as I never received my item. the online site refunded my money but has been on hold by paypal ever since.IT was debited from my bank on 10/11 I got the refund on 10/11 same day but the refund is still on hold by paypal been 5 days now still on hold.Does it go into my pp acct or back into my bank ?

It goes to your paypal account balance, and it takes another 3 to 4 business days to transfer back to your back account :S. So paypal holds your refund for 3 to 5 business days and another 3 to 4 business days to transfer back to your bank account, funny when you pay for an item they take it off your account right away but takes about 2 weeks to put it back.

Yes ,That is funny isn't it? Well its been 5 business now since the refund was given, still on hold. Been just about a week all together.Paypal will put the money into my paypal acct and will I have to withdraw it back to my bank or do they do that? My bank is fast cause they are open 7 days a week takes about 3 days to get money back into my bank online. Hope I don't have to dispute any more online transactions takes paypal to long to give the money back! Next time I will juts go directly to the seller and try to get the refund that way possibly quicker! I see on here where 1 person has waited 30 days and still no refund.I can see the paypay went through in my bank and I can see where it was refunded in my paypal acct but says a temporary hold has been placed while they investigate?? How long is to long to wait for the money to be put back?

i made a payment to linden labs, the business that runs second life, regarding a land purchase, i was told i wouldn't hafta pay a set up fee, they lied, or something, and was charged the full 1000 dollars, i only had 20 dollars in pay pal, so my bank account was charged 980 dollars. well needless to say i couldn't afford that, so i stopped the payment and requested for a refund, i received a full refund last week, mind you LAST WEEK and all parties said it was resolved, i wake up halloween morning, and 980 dollars was taken from me. they put my refund, THAT I HAD ALREADY RECEIVED, on hold. can anyone tell me why pay pal feels like bankrupting me? cause my bank charges a 35 dollar over draft fee every day i am over charged. can someone please help me.

I've been on ebay and paypal for more than a decade and never experienced a hold on my funds before. What's this? The money was in my account then paypal took it away and put this mystery hold on the funds. Sells like BS to me. Looks like a class action suite comming soon. I wonder how the lawyers would view this?

Add me to the list of those affected! I went to the BBB and filed a complaint. I suggest everyone who experiences this do the same. One complaint can be ignored but not a thousand!

There is no good reason why Paypal should put any sort of hold on a refund. Same with the transfer to our bank accounts, but that's a separate issue.

This is ridiculous! 
I had a service that I had cancelled the renewal for.  They charged me anyway.  They agreed it was there mistake and they immediately refunded the payment.  Paypal is sitting on my refund for 3-5 business days and then it's another 3-5 business days before I can put the money back into my bank account.

Called customer service, they hung up on me when I asked for a supervisor. 
Called back and he was rude "If we weren't protecting you, you wouldn't be getting your money back".  "You need to research how ACH works"  Are you kidding me?! 

When I was on the other end as a seller and a buyer made a fraudalent claim they immediately gave her money back to her while credit card and I had to fight for months to get my money back.  Apparently they only protect people who don't have an account with them!

Back again with another temporary hold story yay!!!

OK just brought an item and ask to be canceled about 10 minutes after buying it. The seller was kind and refunded me right away! Thanks to paypal it's now on hold. Hooray !!!!! So I have to wait 3 to 5 days for the refund to clear another 3 to 4 days to transfer it back to my bank and it took only 10 minutes from buying and getting my refund from the seller..... Paypal herp derp.
