So I'm guessing that the problem that I am having with getting my refund put back into my paypal account is happening to a lot of others!!!!! I purchased a pair of shoes from ebay on the 16th. On the 19th the seller contacted me and said that one of the shoes was damaged so she was going to refund the money. I told her to refund the money on the 19th, and she did. That's not the problem.....the problem is.....It is exactly 4 days till Christmas and I need to order another pair of shoes, but until paypal takes the temporary hold off of my refund I won't have the money to purchase another pair of shoes!!!!!!! If paypal can front the money to the seller in order to get them paid in a timely manner, then they should be able to front the money to me, so that I can order another pair of shoes!!!!! This is the first and last time I will ever attempt to purchase something as a Christmas gift over the internet using paypal!!!!! This has been an awful experience!!!!!

I have been given several refunds for one reason or another. The money first showed up in my Paypal balance then it was moved to a temporary hold. I do not understand why this was done or how I can go about getting my money returned to my Paypal Account. The money that was refunded should have went straight back to my bank account. Any suggestions on how to get my money back?

I Do NOT have a answer, and like I stated in earlier post, (btw, I am having the exact problem you have) but also, they don't even bother to explain, they send us to a "community" forum to find answers? That really kills me, they don't even have a direct link to answer this, I am really mad, I have been in limbo on my money ( a hefty sum in my world) since last Saturday. It is now Wed. still nothing. They have had MY MONEY since Friday. <HUGE SIGH> IF You figure this out, let me know. They are using our money for free. you know? I am finding using them as fruitless as ebay.
my best,
jimmie

Well I'm another member being held. They have my $4740.00 locked away somewhere. I was to pick up a boat today but now thanks to pay pal that isn't going to happen. If the money doens't show up very fast this is one customer
that will be going elseware.
If electronic payment can come out of our accounts it can sure as heck go back in. I wonder whos collecting the interest on the money they are holding. It sure isn't us.

Even tho paypal may be able to debit your account instantly, that just means that is has come out of your account. The banking center paypal uses does batch processing and that means normally 4 biz days...not weekends...not holidays. If you purchased an item and are refunded and paid with your paypal balance your refund should be instant. A paypal Hold covers two cases...if you purchased something and then opened a case you have to wait a few days while they close crap ect.. it could take up to 30 days for this type of refund, but if you got something and cancelled the order or the seller refunded and you paid by e-check with credit backing then you will have the 4 day wait..sorry guys I know it **bleep**...but i called the number and found out because I to am waiting for a refund!

I'd suggest to everyone with any Paypal problem.. should goto your States Attorney web sites and begin filling compaints.. I issued a refund today.. assuming it was no cost as in the past AND after trying to hunt down the 'fee' only to get that 'everyone pays the same fees' page and nothing else... only to discover that I was charged .30 cents...! Neddlss to say that once again I am hot under the collar because an idiot winner didn't read all the term on the sale.. which I have dumed down anyway :-S

What I don't understand is that MY refund was not on the same day as the purchase. It was 4 days later, when the item arrived with postage still due, and the seller decided to refund my shipping in return for my inconvenience. The money cleared from my bank on the 18th, and the partial refund was on the 22nd. Therefore, unlike many other people having this problem, I didn't cancel while the transaction was still taking place, so all of the explanations from the Paypal employees that I have seen on here, regarding the fact that it has to do with the transaction not being complete, are invalid for me. Paypal didn't do this years ago-I had a partial refund once before, and it was in my Paypal account right away. I'm really perterbed by this, even though the amount of money is small, because I was going to pay for another item that I won with the refund. I hope this is cleared up soon-it already says "completed" on the partial refund, but it is still on "temporary hold" which makes no sense. If it is on hold, it is NOT completed. This is the first time I have ever been truly disappointed with Paypal.

Since the original payment was made by credit card, the refund will also be credited to your credit card. However, it can take up to 30 days to appear on your credit card statement.

If the refund was sent more than 60 days after the original transaction, the refund will be credited to your PayPal balance. You can also check the status of your refund in your Transaction History.

I'm having the same problem. Paypal says my refunding is Pending Until April 7 but it is now April 19 and no money. I have emailed Paypal customer service and I have called them twice but all I get is promoses to look into it or information that doesn't even aply to my situation. I feel cheated and will avoid using Paypal from no on... Hope your case works out better for you.
