Temporary Hold placed on my refund!!!!

So I'm guessing that the problem that I am having with getting my refund put back into my paypal account is happening to a lot of others!!!!! I purchased a pair of shoes from ebay on the 16th. On the 19th the seller contacted me and said that one of the shoes was damaged so she was going to refund the money. I told her to refund the money on the 19th, and she did. That's not the problem.....the problem is.....It is exactly 4 days till Christmas and I need to order another pair of shoes, but until paypal takes the temporary hold off of my refund I won't have the money to purchase another pair of shoes!!!!!!! If paypal can front the money to the seller in order to get them paid in a timely manner, then they should be able to front the money to me, so that I can order another pair of shoes!!!!! This is the first and last time I will ever attempt to purchase something as a Christmas gift over the internet using paypal!!!!!  This has been an awful experience!!!!!

I'm contacting local news to document this at this level before it goes to the National/Cable level. I URGE YOU ALL TO DO SO.

CALL YOUR LOCAL  "ON YOUR SIDE". and let's take it to TV.

My refund came through the next day. Still not sure why on hold originally but the money is already speant!

I got my refund yesterday in my PayPal account with a some kind of 10% administrative fee. Not sure what it's for nor how to get it back into my bank account?

I think if you have PayPal mail you a check there's an admin fee---but if they electronically send you the refund there's not fee...hope that helps.   I'm waiting on a refund too--and its irritating.

I did find the refund minus the administrative fee in my account but had to go to help to find out how to transfer it to my bank account which I think should be pretty evident- unless I missed it? Found out administrative fee was fault of refunder who classified it as a payment rather than refund and so a transaction fee was levied. Annoying that it takes 2-4 days to get back to your bank account though it gets deducted immediately when you make a purchase.

I have been waiting for 4 days to get my money moved back into my account. I realize this transaction took place on Friday, but as others have stated it moves immediately FROM our accts, but like molasses upon return (today is Tuesday afternoon). Now the reason I am also replying is, I ask the question to paypal on what is going on with my money, and they wisk me over to a community forum to answer their questions. No wonder there is so much employment anymore. We are doing their work? Sad.

My refund was sent to my bank- think the method of requesting same should be more clear though. The fee was because my seller sent it to me as a payment rather than a refund which does have a fee. Thanks for your response.

I don't understand! I too am having the same problem. I bought an item and it was refunded on March 2nd it is now March 7th and still have NOT recieved my money. It says hold placed by paypal and I don't like it one bit!! What gives Paypal the right to use peoples money by not refunding right away??

Having similar problem, but slightly different.

Showed refund on hold

Then, showed completed.

However, no money in my account.

Instead, whole new transaction showing refund money pending.

This was for product paid for but never sent to me because seller didn't really have product, had to order after got my money only put on backorder..Product for which I paid for next day shipping up front..And 3 days later I had to log in to seller's site to see on backorder with no notification to me.  So called seller and had it all canceled as seller still had no idea if/when could get product.  Seller had my money..My bank account had paid it out...and I had to call and cancel to get refund!  So seller said was refunding.  PayPal says waiting for seller's money to actually arrive at Paypal.Into seller's PayPal account before can pay me.

So, why did the first transaction say refunded, temporary hold, temporary hold removed, and completed...all of that on different days...and then after that...a new transaction appears for the following day saying refund is pending?

Very confusing.  Why on hold one day, hold removed next day, completed day after that.  And then, day after that a whole new transaction appears saying refund $ pending?

Can you explain this?  Just wondering where the process is and what the trail means.
