I have sold an item on ebay. Buyer is saying they need my paypal "ID" beacause they are having a problem with paying through ebay. No one else had had this problem with me, so it must be on their end. What is the ID, is it my merchant account? And does this sound this legitimate?

Hello,
I had someone ask me the same thing, except she asked for my email address. Did yours turn out to me legitimate?? Im not sure what to do here.

I came here looking for an answer to the same problem. I have no reason to think this person who asked for my paypal "id" was lying but you never know.
She could not make payment through ppal and I could not understand why there was a problem, as I have only had this happen once before. I gave her my email so she could send the money direct and I hope that wasn't a violation on my part, but I did not know what else to do, as my customer was getting rather irritated at that point.

I called pp and they told me just to give them my email only. They also said to check in my pp account for when the pmt. posts and then send the item, because it won't show paid in my ebay sold section. I gave my email to the buyer but nothing yet.

I gave the party my email address he let me know he paid. I checked back in with my pp account and the the money was there so I shipped the item and marked my ebay account that it was shipped. Everything is ok. Of coarse the amount was under $10 so I didn't worry as I would have with $100. But you never know. Good Luck!
