Payment not showing up in paypal?

I sold a game on ebay, and the seller purchased it and sent a payment. On ebay the transaction says "being processed through paypal" but it doesn't show up anywhere on my paypal account. Is that normal for it to not show up because it's processing?

Hi, no it is not normal and i too am having this issue. I have been with pp since 2004 with no problems, this is not good as i had 4 orders just yesterday with this problem.

I'm going thru the exact situation right now. I received the email telling me the money was transferred but the account shows nothing.

I just checked my account again and it's showing the amount pending until Tuesday of next week. Am I supposed to hold the shippment until it clears? What's with the delay now?

If the buyer has paid and the payment doesn't show in your PayPal account history, most likely the payment was sent to an email address which is not linked to your PayPal account.

You may have misspelled your PayPal email address in the payments section of your eBay listing or you may have used an old email address. To check this, click on the "Relist" link for that item and look in the payments section for the PayPal email address.

If you have access to that email address, login to your PayPal account and "Add" the email address to your account. The payment will show up right after you confirm the email address.

Otherwise, you will need to ask the buyer to cancel the payment and resend to your correct email address. Send the buyer a PayPal invoice (Request Money) to make it easier for the buyer to pay.

Sounds like an echeck payment... echeck payments take 2-5 business days to clear.

What did your "payment received" email from PayPal say?

"This email confirms that you have received an Auction Instant Purchase Payment for"

It also says I can request a check for payment or withdraw it at any time. November 10th isn't "any time" to me.

I'm having this same problem. I sold an item on Craigslist. I received a confirmation of pending funds. No money is showing on my paypal account, nothing in history and the email address I have linked to my PP account is correct. The buyer is saying that they requested that no payment show in my account until AFTER I ship the item. I think I'm getting scammed and refuse to ship until I know for sure the money is there. Plus, he wants me to ship overseas and I'm not paying out of pocket for the shipping either. How do I find out that he actually made the payment?
