Hi everyone!
Please keep in mind that the funds availability date is an estimate based on the expected date of delivery plus three full days. You can learn more in this post.
I hope this helps!

Uh sorry miss Olivia.... But there is no reason for paypal to hold on to money that has been paid by a buyer after that item has been shipped. It certainly has no valid reason for holding on to it for a week after it has been delivered. What business does this? Just exactly what is paypal doing with my $423.00? Your not a bank waiting for someones personal check to clear. This is very bad business. I will be cancelling my paypal account as soon as this payment clears. Too bad because I have been shopping on ebay and using paypal for a long time. But if I cant sell without you holding my money hostage and I cant buy without you holding my money hostage from my buyer then something is wrong with your business ethics. And it looks like a **bleep** of a lot of people feel the same.

C'mon Olivia, this new HOLD stunt is not a security feature! I have a 100% feedback score with no disputes or chargebacks over several years with numerous items sold over $100 and never had a HOLD on MY funds. Guess I'll have to find the Ebay/Paypal alternative. Sad too, I really enjoyed this, but this is a deal breaker. We count on access to that money faster than weeks.

I had the same problem. Shipped on the 4th, product received by the 7th. Funds should have been available on the 18th. Now its the 20th and nothing.
I had shipped at the post office and then added tracking to eBay site. Apparently doing it that way does not inform paypal that item is shipped and received.
I called paypal, they tracked it and released the funds.
However, they said that I need to update my tracking info in paypal for future shipments to prevent this in the future. Here are the instructions for that as sent from paypal via email.
If you used a shipping company that offers online tracking, you can add shipment tracking information to the transaction on your PayPal account.
Here’s how to send your tracking information:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click "History" near the top of the page.
- Find the transaction you want to send tracking information and click "Details."
- Click "Add Tracking Info."
- Fill in the information, and then click "Save."
After you click "Save," the buyer receives an email to let them know that you entered the shipment tracking information for this transaction. The email includes the tracking number, order status, and shipping company.
Your funds will be released 3 days after we have your tracking information and can confirm your item was delivered.

Im having the same problem. I sold two items this week and the payment on eBay shows payment processing the buyers contacted me and said it shows funds not claimed. I've never had this problem the money has always Been available immediately and I'm not sending the items out until I receive my payments first. Does anyone know why this is happening???????

Call them. Be polite, but persistent, and insist that they tell you why your account has been flagged as a high risk account. At first they'll give you some BS about a new policy. Explain to them (politely of course) that the policy as outlined on their website indicates that funds will be available immediately unless your are considered a high risk. If you have not had money held for past sale transactions, again insist that they tell you what has changed regarding your account that it is now flagged as a high risk account. The first person you talk to will likely not be able to tell you anything. Ask to talk to a supervisor or someone who can help you.
I managed to get the hold taken off items that have sold since my call to them last Friday. Unfortunately, they are still holding money from prior sales that have been shipped. I was told on Friday by the customer service representative I spoke with that my account looked fine and that he would submit it for re-evaluation. He said that process would take 24 hours. It's now been well over 48 hours, and the hold is still in effect. Fortunately, it seems money from future sales will not be held.
Again, call them. Don't just email them. Emails are much too easy to answer with a simple canned response. Remember, you are the customer and you are the one paying for this service.

Ignore my last message. The day after I managed to convince eBay to release the hold on my funds, PayPal enacted a hold of their own. It was simply a trick (and that's a kind description) to get me off the phone. I have zero trust in PayPal and eBay, and would never trust them to fairly arbitrate a dispute. I have ended my auctions and am waiting for the final funds to clear in PayPal so that I can close my PayPal account.

I think this is the last time I do business thru paypal. I dont know of any other business that holds MY money for over a week AFTER the item has been delivered to the buyer. What is the point in requiring a buyer to pay immediately when they do a BUY IT NOW purchase if paypal holds your money for two to three weeks. This is completely unacceptable.

From what I am reading it seems this activity is becoming more prevelant with Paypal. Funds I received were just held. First time in the several years of buying and selling on Ebay and using Paypal. I have 100% positive feedback and have sold over 100 items with no disputes or chargebacks. This is definitely a manuever by Paypal/ Ebay to earn interest on MY money and not the claimed security feature. This will take legal action to halt this activity and I'll bet they have weaved a clause into the contract/ agreement that allows them to do it. I just wonder if the federal judge who hears this one will agree OR if they can handle the member backlash from it. Because I am already looking for alternatives.
So Paypal_olivia pass it up the hill we are not gonna take this sitting back!
