Can the instant payment I received be taken back out of my paypal account?

A newbie buyer used a 'buy it now' option and made an instant payment into my paypal account.

I need to send out the item he purchased, but I am concerned that he could retrieve the money back from my account or if he doesn't have the funds in his checking account, what would happen then?

Do I have any protection at all with paypal?
