paypal debit card

Is there a way to set up paypal debit card purchases, that aren't online, to take from another form of payment before taking from the paypal balance?  I use my card for all purchases.  If I have any kind of balance, from a previous return or a payment made to me, it pulls that first and than from my bank account.  I would prefer to leave the balance alone and ill transfer it when I want.  If not, my calculations are all off.  If I buy something for $10 and write it in my log, it could really be $4 if I had a balance when I made the purchase.  Makes for a ton of mistakes in my log ugh

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your prefered way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.
