Why do I have a Deactivated error message?

I have a PayPal Mastercard and have always paid the minimum or more on it.  A few days ago, I logged on to the app and it said that my card was deactivated.  I have no idea why.

Earlier today, I called customer service and the representative said that they aren't showing that my card is deactivated and I should be able to use it without a problem.

I scheduled a payment today (it's Sunday, just after 9pm in my part of the world right now) so the payment won't post until tomorrow or Tuesday.  My balance before the payment does put a little bit over the limit but that's mostly because I just got a new statement for a new billing cycle.  After the payment posts, I will have a little bit of available credit.

I'm really confused about all of this.  Can anybody help by explaining even part of this?

I’m having the same issue! Now, every payment I make just gets returned for no reason and leaves me with a “past due” balance that’s just interest on my “missed payments” It’s infuriating. I can’t even get someone on the phone.

Hello @unowneskape and everyone!

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues making recent payments and with a deactivated error message. I would recommend contacting that card's customer support for assistance. They'll be able to dive into those issues with your recent payments and advise on that error message than our regular PayPal Customer Support would. Here's an article with their Customer Service information for your convenience.

I hope that helps!
