Pay in 4 Not showing up anymore

Hello, I have some question about ay in 4 feature, I was approved for the feature but now on websites where it was shown, I no longer see the options why could this be?

And seriously I didn't even miss the payment, I paid it the day it was due but the Automatic payment failed and that apparently was enough for PayPal to cancel my pay in 4 service... I'd seriously up until that point probably used "pay in 4" 30 times or more. Clearly PayPal don't give **bleep** about their customers!

Yes I think their risk rating AI formula is up the **bleep** everyone I know used to be able to pay in 4, always paid on time etc no issues, and now no one i know has the option. Kind of renders PayPal as useless now. We can still use after pay etc.

I just had the same happened to me. Pay in 4 option is not there any more despite paying on time with all my purchases previously. If it is a glitch as sone of the previous comments, you would have thought it should be fixed by now after 3 years of the original post! PayPal, Please get to the bottom of this and give us a solution and reinstate the option for all of us here. Thank you!

So mine all sudden just showed up again out of nowhere so I guess it was some kind of glitch.

I have same issue. I actually paid it off earlier than the initiated. Now it doesnt show, I called them and they said maybe the shop is not accepted and I said that can't be right because just a month ago, you guys accepted the same store. 

The lady then said, it is a system thing, give it a couple of weeks and try again. It is almost a month and still not showing up.

I mean, why show this options to people and play with us later even though that pay the instalment on time

I decided to start opening my mouth. This is completely incorrect in every way ! I go through PayPal with everything. Whether it’s buying dolls for my daughter or fishing and camping gear for the family. I’ve spent tons of money, when it comes to PayPal. Now the toughest time in my life and the only thing I can fall back on in this time of the holidays, pay in 4 is gone. Basically a slap in the face. Didn’t know why until they sent me an email. Stating insufficient funds. Going back and checking on everything I noticed it went back to the debit card I canceled. When changing it to the correct card, there wasn’t an option for pay in 4 anymore. After a few purchases still didn’t see the option for pay in 4. What the hell is going on? I have more than enough money, but won’t give me the opportunity. It weird when you look back at your past history, no lates or delinquency’s. The only answer you get from customer service is, it’s not up to us, it’s the computer that makes these decisions. WOW we can’t even talk to anyone in regards to this unfortunate mishap. I don't get it... I paid off my plans early and now the option is completely gone. Customer service is not helpful and I get errors no matter the payment method on PayPal I choose.. I call my bank and they said it's not on thier end.. they said it must be paypal because the decline doesn't even show on thier end... they said there's no restrictions... paypal says there's no restrictions... at this point I think paypal finds my account gas suspicious activity... but there's no way to know anything for sure... no way to try to prove otherwise... it's sooo frustrating

Happened to me too today hopefully it comes back its a helpful feature as i'm trying to buy Pokemon stuff i couldn't get during the Covid era.

If anyone is still interested in this topic I have just spoken to a representative and was told that if you have a "Business" account and ever receive a payment through this account then you will not have access to "Pay in 4" options for a full year?  I had received a reward payout through Rakuten and Microsoft in the prior months and that is when I was not seeing the option anymore.  

 

We talked further and I figured the only way around it is to create a personal account for those purposes.  Or just to change my Business Account to a Personal Account but even in that case she said it would stilly apply that I couldn't use it for that time frame if i switched I believe.  I still don't know "Why" PayPal has it like this, But I guess there's a reason.

Well, I've been trying to find out the reason why it's not showing up and finally managed to get something from support. I've been using Pay in 4 and always paid on time except for the one time where I was a day late. Here's what support said to me.

 

"I have reviewed your account, and I can see that the most recent application for Pay in 4 has been declined. Unfortunately, we are not provided with the specific reasons of this decline, however this would have been available on screen at the time. In the meantime, you can use an alternative payment method to make your purchase as Pay in 4 is not available for this particular purchase, at this time. Customer service is not able to review or change this decision.

 

You are most welcome to apply again in the future when you see the Pay Later option and just to set some expectations Pay Later eligibility will vary with each shopping experience and not all goods and services may be eligible. Keep in mind our decision-making process is based on a number of different factors and is automated."

 

Been a month now and I finally got that response after waiting a day. No where on the purchase screen does it say why I was declined, all it said was "Pay in 4 has been declined" and then sent me back to the original page where you can pay with your card instead. Paid everything off and I'm just waiting a week before closing my account and moving to Afterpay.

 

Don't expect any help from support, they won't give it to you. Either you wait a year and see if it changes or just use another service like ZIP or AfterPay.
