Charged twice on Paypal in 4 after submitting an order on Torrid.com

So I tried to submit an order on Torrid using Paypal in 4 payments but the website stalled and I had to restart all over but knowing Paypal it sent a pending authorization to my debit card and now I have two pending charges of the first down payment. I want to make sure it will fall off but if it doesn't, what will be my next options: dispute through resolution or worst case scenario?

This is my second time using Paypal but I'm worried because I don't want to be double charged every time for these payments when it is supposed to be a 1 payment plan and not two plans.

Please help!

Hi @cgrland1,

Thank you for your post!

I am sorry to hear what has happened. I do understand your concern. When you attempt to make a payment, the amount can be temporarily charged to your bank/card. This is an authorization charge.

If only one transaction shows in your PayPal account, the merchant will only complete one order. Therefore, the other temporary charge (authorization) will be removed from your bank within 72 hours. This is normal practice for online payments, so no need to be worried if this happens again.

I hope this helps!
