My Account Won't Accept International Payments

Hi,

Before anyone jumps on my case, I have gone through the tutorials and the forum questions trying to solve this, but no luck. Maybe I'm just missing something that someone can help with.

I have a Payhip store and my payments are processed through Paypal. I have had buyers from the US who have gotten their items without a hitch, so this isn't a problem on the Payhip end. When international buyers (so far, Australia, Ireland, and the UK) try to make a purchase they get a message stating that my account does not accept payments from outside the U.S. Sigh...

I've gone in and added various currencies (euro, CAD, AUD, pound, etc).

I have also gone into my Profile>>Payment Preferences>>Block Payments and under...

Allow payments sent to me in a currency I do not hold, I've ticked : "Yes, accept and convert them to U.S. Dollars". (I've also tried Ask me whether to accept or deny each individual payment, and this didn't help).
Under Block the following payments, I have NOT ticked "Pay with eCheck transfer for all website payments except eBay."
And under Block non-U.S. shipping addresses: I have ticked "No"

As I said, US-based payments go through fine, but I am honestly on the verge of tears trying to sort out why the international buyers can't complete their purchases. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Uncheck the “Initiate payments from the Pay Anyone subtab of the Send Money tab” checkbox on the block payments page too. Maybe it's a thing that you have to set up VAT or set up your PayHip account to accept international orders too.

Because you seem to have all the settings in PayPal set up correctly.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Thanks @sharpiemarker but what you've described (Send Money, Pay Anyone, Initiate Payment.) is nowhere on my Block Payments page, and I don't see any of these in my Profile/Settings page.

The rejection message the international buyers are receiving is coming directly from Paypal and I've gone through all Payhip's troubleshooting fun, so I'm pretty sure this is a Paypal issue.

Oh ok then PayPal must've gotten rid of that option because the image on the PayHip site which I got this from was of the classic version of the PayPal block payments settings.

If the problem persists, contact customer service and ask for tech support if the general service reps can't help:

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.

Call early, during business hours, west coast time to try to get a US rep. Say "Live Agent" to the automated recording.

Or private message via social media:
