payment gone to wrong place, they deny receiving it, paypal wont help

HI,

So i made a payment to a company, but the payment went to another company with a similar name (my fault i had them both on my list). The company who the money went to denies receivint it. Paypal wont help saying it was a legit transaction. I have given transaction number to company who should have received the money and we have both quoted this to PP saying the money has not been received. The company who got the money promptly closed their PP account after my complaint. How do i get my money back?

If it was a goods and services payment, open a dispute in the Resolution center for item not received. If you sent a friends and family payment, you essentially sent a ‘gift’ payment, no refunds. PayPal won’t help you if you made the error since you are given the opportunity to review payment prior to finalizing it.

 

Unauthorized activity reports are for reporting account breaches, transactions you did not log on to make.
