Unauthorised debit PayPal won’t take responsibility for

On the 9th of this month my PayPal balance fell into negative due to funds not being available in my bank account. Total was $1567.70

I rang PayPal and they advised me to transfer the balance immediately. Some sales had come through in this time and the remaining negative balance was $900. I transferred $920 to bring the balance back up while on the phone to PayPal customer service. I checked many times that they would no longer try to direct debit this money once I paid the $900. They confirmed.

Fast forward to the 11th. They direct debit $1567.70 from my attached bank account. The money is gone.

the PayPal transaction for this is in my list but says ‘failed’. It surely has not failed.

paypal has advised me my own bank did it. Not the case. My bank can see it gone. Have advised me to open a fraud claim.

has this happened to anyone else before? $1567 ain’t no joke and PayPal are not helping me at all. I also can’t open a claim in resolution centre on the funds removal.

What PAypal does is part human and part automated,Paypal software could have sent a request to withdraw $15xx from your account via ACH  while at the same time you transfer $900 also via ACH from bank to Paypal,WHAT IS your balance now,it should be a positive balance of 15xx plus $20?

you said you speak to Paypal and they promise you not to withdraw, but they cant stop the machine from doing so,once it is in ACH,you have no control over it,ACH is  operated by the Fed.

BESIDES Paypal is not a bank,it keeps our money in bank under its name, there are different levels of ACH,Paypal uses the slowest but free one which takes days,

if you do have a positive balance in your Paypal account, you can move the money back to your bank account, just wait a few days

Re the payment - the second payment says ‘failed’ and PayPal has said my bank has the money. (They don’t). The money is gone from my account. They didn’t tell me it would clear in my balance they said it would not and also that my bank has it. Which isn’t the case. I also finally got a reply from them in this time and a customer service rep is fixing it by Wednesday.

They withdrew the money (twice) and the marked it as ‘failed’ the second time. A rep confirmed it had not failed. It was marked incorrectly.
