Maybe they were trying to send you a personal payment. PayPal India accounts cannot receive personal payments, only goods and services payments hence possibly why it is telling the sender to go to your website or emails for other ways to pay. Also have you verified your PayPal account? Go through the KYC procedures where necessary?
