If someone sends funds as friends and family can they charge back? Trying to decide if PayPal is a safe way to receive funds for a vehicle I’m selling.

Its against Paypal rules to accept a family / friends payment for selling goods and you risk your Paypal account being limited if you do so.

A buyer would not be able to open a Paypal dispute for 'non-receipt' OR 'not as described' as they would have no Paypal buyer protection.
However they can still open an 'unauthorised transaction' OR do a 'chargeback' (via their card issuer) and you may well lose as you would have no Paypal seller protection.

Hi. Thank you for reaching out to us. Yes its safe. I just want to give you some pro-tips regarding on sending money and receiving through PayPal. We have 2 ways, one is sending to Friends and Family option, the other one is sending to a Goods and Services. If your friend used the first option, there will be no fee but if they sent it using the second option, PayPal will collect the fix rate fee of 2.9% plus .30 USD of a transferred amount. And it will stay on hold until 21 calendar days not unless it shows delivered, it becomes available for you after 24 hrs. Thank you and stay safe.

You are advising someone to use the friends / family option for SELLING !!!

That is supposed to be totally against paypal rules.

Secondly there is NO paypal buyer or seller protection for MOTOR VEHICLES.

So how can you advise them its safe when they can easily be scammed using paypal to sell their car???
