Refund

I have issued a refund a couple of days ago but had no money in my PayPal. I just assumed they would deduct the money from my account linked to PayPal. But it seems to be taking longer than I expected and now the buyer is getting impatient as the refund is still pending days later. Would it make the process any quicker if I just transferred the amount now to my PayPal account?

You have issued a refund, not your fault it has to clear first.

Pending refunds can only happen for two reasons.

1. You issued a refund from your bank account which takes time to process.

2. Or the buyer funded their payment to the seller using bank transfer. What PayPal do here is credit the recipient on their behalf (so there is no delay in despatching the item). Then if they receive a refund in the meantime Paypal are unable to issue this until the original bank transfer completes.
