Refund to Buyer still showing as "Pending"

I made this refund to a buyer on the 23rd March.  The money definitely came out of my linked bank account as my Paypal balance was zero.

But it's still showing as pending on Paypal. Ebay is now chasing me to refund the amount.

Any ideas, anyone?

Hi @JeremyO,

Bank-funded refunds are not instant. The clearing process usually takes 10 working days to complete. That's why the transaction is still showing as pending on your PayPal account.

As you've initiated the refund on the 23rd of March, the money should clear by the 6th of April. Please bear in mind that this date is only an indication as clearing time frames may vary depending on your bank.

Thank you for the reply.  I had forgoten that a refund when the Paypal balance is zero so needs funds from the linked bank account goes as an "e-cheque" which takes a while to clear. Next time I will make sure my account has funds before making a refund!

The refund arrived with the buyer today so all is fine now.
