Refund cancelled

I sent a refund to someone via PayPal, the refund was pending for a while then the money was taken from my bank account but then that was instantly returned to my bank. The refund now says “cancelled- refund complete” and in the info for the refund it says it was paid with my PayPal balance yet I didn’t have any money on my PayPal balance when the refund was supposed to go through? Will the payment try to be taken again? Why was the money taken from my account then returned straight away?

I'm sorry to hear that there's confusion regarding a refunded payment. What you describe is certainly very strange. Please contact customer service to allow a representative to take a look at what happened and get to the bottom of things.
