Pending order

I ordered a book from booktopia. The money came out of my bank account. but the order was as below.

Payment status: PENDING

Payment type: Authorisation

When I look at my orders from booktopia it is not listed in my booktopia account.

Does anyone know what is happening.

How long will it take to be confirmed and will booktopia still know i ordered the book.

Thank you for reaching out to us. 

When we purchase an item from a website, from the time that we click on checkout, the order would be sent out to the seller/merchant, then an authorization would be sent out as well, when this happens, funds would be set aside to make sure that there would be enough balance to cover the payment. Once they have received the authorization and accepts it, they would be taking out the funds that we have set aside. 

Now since it still shows as Pending, meaning they have not confirmed the order yet and they have not taken out the funds yet. After the given time and we do not receive a response from the seller or merchant, funds would be released and the Authorization would show as canceled/denied.
