Paypal Took Money for No Reason: Will Not Allow Chargeback Dispute

I am absolutely livid right now, so I apologize if this is not as professional or easy to read as it could be. Paypal has stolen my money and will not explain to me what I purchased or even entertain the dispute.

I supposedly sent $49.99 to google on June 15th, so yesterday. I was baffled - No purchase I have ever made on google or google play has ever been over $15-20, and normally they range below $5.

I looked in my google purchase history and the only transactions that were made yesterday were worth $8, to an app called Neko Atsume.

The charge also doesn't say it was to google play, rather to google, and I can't find out what the charge was FOR! Because it doesn't say and it doesn't say the app.

I've tried disputing the claim with google but nothing has been resolved there yet - I highly doubt anything will happen because, per my google account, I DID NOT MAKE THIS PURCHASE!

If it had been under $10 I would have been mad but $50 is too much. I can't just deal with that much money disappearing for no reason.

Please help me.

Hi @brindlefinch,

I'm sorry to her that there is a discrepancy between the agreed-upon price and the price that you're being charged. This type of issue is a billing issue, and it can be reported by visiting the Resolution Center. If you've already opened a case of a different type, you can contact customer service to request assistance opening a case of the correct type. To contact customer service, click Contact at the bottom of the PayPal website for options or reach out by PM on Facebook or DM on Twitter.

I hope this helps!

Check if you had a subscription set up...

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments''.

@kernowlass Yes. I did have a subscription set up - but the past two months have been consistent. All of a sudden this month it was $50, when no other month has it been over $10.

I did nothing different this month. I don't remember signing up for anything but you know, I'm willing to accept that I did and forgot - but I have NEVER been charged $50 by google EVER. And it doesn't say what the subscription was for!

It hasn't been over $10 since January of this year and beyond. It doesn't tell me what it's for other than "to google."

I can't get my money back because I apparently approved this but it doesn't tell me WHAT I approved and no one will explain to me how I suddenly spent 5x more than normal on something I never actually signed off on!

Thank you so, so much. I didn't realize this would be a billing issue. Unfortunately, I already filed a resolution under the wrong category, but hopefully an agent can get it resolved!

Thank you again!
