Hi, I gave someone my PayPal payment request link will I receive payment or must I change it and give them my email address instead.

Welcome to the community. Both should work fine. If you have sent a payment request or invoice, the recipient can click to 'Pay' you. They can also use the 'Send Money' tab to send you a payment directly once they have your email address.
