Payment pending

A friend sent me £13 to help me with my shopping today, the payment isn't showing up on my balance and is saying payment pending. What does this mean and how long until I can transfer it into my bank?

Pending on the senders paypal account?

Pending on both accounts?

Is there a clearance date?

Which option was used to send the funds ie was it a money request or invoice OR send money > either goods / services or family / friends etc etc.
