Paying With PayPal Credit

If I put money on my paypal account, would I be able to use that amount along with my paypal credit amount to purchase something? Or can you only use credit or the amount you already have on your account?

Only use credit OR the amount you already have on your account. No split payments with PayPal Credit, the entire purchase has to be covered by credit line.

PayPal may let the charge through and increase your credit limit or let it go through without increasing your credit limit. PayPal can also decline the charge altogether or let it go through during checkout but after checkout, rescinds the approval and uses a linked payment source instead. So if you're feeling bold and want to try it on, make sure you have enough funds in your other funding sources to cover the purchase in case it doesn't go through on PayPal Credit.
