- I sent money to the wrong email address (but very similar to the correct address).
- My payment method is direct bank transfer (I'll now change that!)
- I only have name and email address of this person and they have not responded to my request.
- It was a business transaction so I hoped the paypal buyer protection would help me (but it isn't)
- I did file a dispute and it was denied, along with subsequent appeals.
- I am so frustrated!
- Is there any solution through paypal?
- If the only solution is small claims court, I assume it would be against the person who is keeping my money; how can I get the information I need about this person to file a small claims case?
- Any thoughts?

A dispute for an unauthorised transaction is telling paypal that your account was hacked and used without your consent to make that transaction.
Paypal would check IP addresses and devices and close the dispute if it was you that made the transaction.....which of course it was.
If you had filed for non receipt of item then you would probably have got your refund.
You are only allowed 1 dispute per transaction so the only way you can get a second dispute opened is to contact Paypal (when and if you can) and see if they will open a second dispute for you.
They may decline citing policies but if you say you made a mistake then they might open a second dispute for you.
If not then if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then consider contacting your card issuer and see if they will help you with a chargeback?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

If they were transactions using the goods / services option and NOT friends / family then you should get a refund if you open a dispute for non receipt of item (as that person has nothing to send you), so which disputes did you open?

Sorry but that can't be true, if they did not have a paypal account or it was limited or closed then the funds would not show as completed in your paypal account and you would not have been able to open a dispute.
If they did not have a paypal account then the funds would have shown as pending / unclaimed on your paypal account.

I too sent money to the wrong email address and the payment is saying "pending". I emailed the person stating what had happened and have not received a reply back. My question is how long will the payment stay in "pending" status? If the person doesn't collect the money, then how long does it stay pending before it goes back into my account?
