How to cancel a weekly automatic payment from New York Times

I continue to be charged a weekly payment, though my NYT account is closed as I just verified.   NYT says Paypal has to notified to stop debiting my account.  Anyone know how I do that?

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments''.
