How to Void a transaction marked 'pending'

I recently purchased some items and got no response at all to emails sent to the seller. The transaction is showing as 'pending' and there is a button that allows me to VOID the transaction. When I click it I get a warning and continue but then a blank page - nothing to show the transaction has beed voided. And when I refresh the summary page again the transaction shows as pending.

I don't entirely trust this company now because they do not respond to my emails. How can I be sure they will not take money from my account?

Are you sure you're the buyer in this transaction? Buyer's cannot Void Pending Authorizations on purchases. Buyers would have to contact seller to void/cancel an authorization or order. Unless it's a new feature PayPal is trying out. Or, are you the seller trying to contact the buyer but can't Void the order? People sometimes do get buyer/seller terms backwards.

In any case, contact customer service for them to investigate the issue:

Click HELP at the top menu, scroll down to click CONTACT US, and then scroll down to click CALL US.

Say "Live Agent" to the automated recording.

Or private messaging via social media:

Thanks
First off; Lines closed so can't get help that way - thus the post on here.
Second; I am the buyer and  I am getting the option to VOID but ultimately it does not work.

The seller has not sent anything yet. On their website it shows the order as 'in process' But they do not respond to any emails as to when it will be sent. The lack of response and subsequent bad reviews I've read about customer support with this company DV247 Musicstore is making me feel as though I cannot trust them. Given that the money has not been taken yet I SHOULD have the option to block it (and if this is not a feature it should be on PayPal)

If the seller is not responding to my emails about the delivery, they are unlikely to respond to me about cancellation and 'voiding' the transaction.
I want to cancel this to have the freedom to re-order from a different customer. Presently, I'm in limbo and cannot do either. I shouldn't have to wait for an irresponsible company to reply while it's holding my cash hostage. If I can ask for a refund later, I should just as easily be allowed to stop the transaction before it is completed.

An authorization guarantees the merchant that they can collect the funds once an order has shipped. Therefore, the buyer can't cancel it. It will however automatically release after 29 days if not captured.

A dishonest merchant is more likely to use a straight up sale. The odds are these folks are just incompetent, but, that does mean they may end up shipping you order after a long delay and then you get charged. If you no longer want it and can't reach them you will need to wait the 29 days.
