I am using PayPal to buy things and I wanted to buy a subscription from Xbox and use my paypal. I don’t have a credit card linked to my paypal and I’m being asked to add a credit card. I want to pay with my balance though. So if I add a card and purchase it, will it use my balance or my card? My preferred payment way is balance.

Hi @William1526,
Thank you for your post and welcome to our Community Help Forum!
I am sorry about your issue. If the system is asking you to add a card, this probably means that our internal security system is triggered and you would need to add it.
If your preferred payment way is your balance, your balance will be charged. If there is no balance in your account, your backup funding source will be charged.
I hope this helps.
Cristina
