Hi folks,
Sorry if this has been asked before. I sent a payment to the wrong person on my friend's list. I cancelled it straight away and she works in the same office as me, she saw it on her phone that I'd sent money and she didn't accept as we were both talking about it and she knew it was me. It says cancelled in my account. However, the money shows as gone from my bank account and in my Paypal account it has pending next to the refund, this was done on Monday morning the 13th. Should it be back in my account now?
What worrying me is if it's because the other person doesn't have an email set up with her account? Although I really do think it never got there, as I was with her. I think it's caught up in a PayPal loop somewhere. If it's just down to banking and working ays that' fine, although PayPal is usually fairly instant.
Thank you for any help or advice,
Jem

When you cancel a payment those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will as the transaction was cancelled return them to your funding source (if you paid from your bank account or with a card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded from that balance), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thank you so much for your reply. It has put my mind at ease. As long as I know it's just going through the process that's fine, as I was worrying that it was lost in cyberspace.
Thanks again,
Jem 🙂

You have to remember that the words 'quick' and 'Paypal' don't normally go together.
