================================
Updating thread title to reflect the new date of March 29th.
Please note that we have extended the go live date for this until March 29th. Any questions related to updating the buttons and HTML basics related to this upgrade please post here.
================================
HI,
I received this email from PayPal..
Update your PayPal buttons before 18 January 2017
In January, we'll be upgrading the PayPal integration you're using, Website Payments Standard, to:
- Let your customers check out in a click with One Touch™
- Ensure your checkout is always mobile-optimised
- Deliver a simpler checkout design that’s consistent across desktop and mobile
To ensure you can continue to process payments once these upgrades have taken place, please update your PayPal buttons by 18 January 2017.
What do you need to do?
We’ve identified problems with at least one of your PayPal buttons so please check all your existing buttons for invalid or incorrect data.
--
I've been testing my buttons to see if theres a problem, so far all working (still many to go)
If PayPal has identified a problem cant they also mention where and what it is since they discovered it?
I see the PayPal documentation but so far I cant see my mistake..
Any help or advice on this most welcome.. i.e further info on this email and how to troubleshoot this..
Anthony

We are getting this error also. We are a paypal partner and several of our customers have received these emails abouto the update on march 29th. The problem is that when I test their stores they are all going to the new checkout pages. My guess is that in a small number of cases something bad is being passed. Without knowing what orders had problems or at what times or what the problem was it's nearly impossible to figure out what is wrong, ie when we test it all is fine.
Are you able to give me some time/dates or ids or transactions with issues for some of my affected merchants or is there another way to identify what caused this email to go out to some of our merchants and not others?

@blac6789 Would you mind to open a technical suppor ticket from here:
https://www.paypal-techsupport.com/app/ask
with a few examples of the merchant accounts that received the email?
Please let me know the ticket number once you open it.

@gregskipper Your screenshot it's from eBay payments.
If you are only taking payments from eBay, you don't have to worry about the upgrade.
If you also have your own website integration, please double check if it's redirecting to the new or the old checkout.

How about creating invoice for my clients & withdrawing money to my local bank account?..I also aceepts payments from my clients? Are this bnuttons affected by the upgrades?
Thanks

@gregskipper This will only affect mechants that are selling products through their own website.
If you are a buyer, or just intend to create/send invoices to take payments from others, you don't need to worry about this.
