can a payment be taken if the phone i'm using isn't connected to the web due to signal outage

Hi I'm thinking of purchasing the card reader as i think it will help our biuisness at events but i'm finding the mobile signal very patchy at some of these evenets we are attending and it keeps dropping out, what would happen to a payment if i took it and the phone wasnt connected at that time of process ?

Thanks for reaching out to us in regards to this. If you are using a PayPal Here device, you would need to have the device paired with a mobile device that has signal on it. If your signal is down on your mobile device, you will not be able to process a payment through your PayPal Here card reader.

Would you by any chance have a second mobile device on a different network that you would be able to pair with your card reader to try and process payments in the event of your existing device not having full connectivity?

Thanks for the reply, that's what we thought to be fair , we have ordered one I suppose we would just have to drag the customer outside to take payment I'm sure they would understand
