Paypal Extras Mastercard: Still Declined

I activated my card online.  It said that it was activated and the link to activate it no longer shows as an option.  I went to try and purchase something using it through Paypal and it said that the transaction could not be completed and to use another form of payment.  So I tried using it just as it is, a credit card, it was then declined. 

 

I have called twice, and this is after calling the first time because they somehow had the wrong address and had to cancel and send me a new card.  I only have a small balance on the card, which isn't showing up on the account, so insufficient funds is not a problem.  Also, the number for the card, the last four digits that show on the site, are also wrong, but I cannot update the card on the account.

 

So, my card has been activated three times and it has still been declined.

 

I really need some help with this please.

Sorry to hear about your experience. You can't trust what the recording says over the phone.

One day it will say no payment is due, and the next day it will say you have a $2,000+ balance.

They want you to not pay or pay late so they can tack on extra fees.

 

The call center operators aren't that much better as we all know. Once I get my new card in

the mail this week, I am not going to call and activate it. It's just not worth going through the hassle.

 

Now I have a PC Richard Credit Card through GE Money bank and never had a problem, so I think

PayPal is the one that needs to get their act together. If I were you I would close your paypal credit card

Emily and pay off the small balance which I hope you know how much it is. Good luck.

Hi: 

 

I just got my PayPal Extras Mastercard in the mail today. All went well when I activated it online through my PayPal account. I haven't actually tried to buy anything with it.  But I'm worried about the account number being wrong, like yours Emily85.  It's off by one number in the last group of four.

 

Also, I was wondering if a paper bill is sent.  I can't find anything about that in the help files.

I'm pretty sure the number is different because just like when you go to a department store they provide a temporary pass for you to use until you receive an actual card and activate.. I think it just takes some time after you activate for it to update the records with paypal.

Thanks Joushou.  I remember, now, after activating the card there was a message that said something like that.  I don't plan on using it for a long time anyway.  Kind regards.
