Double transaction posted on my debit card

Used my PayPal debit card at the post office today.  The first time the clerk ran my card through the machine, we waited for a response, and finally got an error message about a communications error.  SO she ran it through a second time and it worked and all was well.  Except for the fact that when I got home and checked my balance, it seems to have charged my account twice.  Will this correct itself, or do I need to dispute the second charge?

thanks...

What you see are two authorizations.  One of those should expire and you balance should restore itself.  This takes about 10 days.  Unfortunately, the way all credit and debit card networks is that they request authorizations to guarantee that the transaction goes through, then sometime later (at the end of the day, usually) the transactions from the card terminal are all batched up and submitted.  Then the authorizations are metched up to the transactions over the next few days.

Hope this helps
