PayPal credit balance unaltered after refund.

Hi, I purchased something on PayPal credit with was refunded the next day due to it being damaged. My issue is that my PayPal credit balance is still showing that I owe this amount. I tried the online messenger but was hit with a reply that it is not working. Has anyone else had this issue or can anybody help me? Many thanks.
