Selling a few house hold items on ebay, should I make a personal or business PayPal account?

I'm thinking about selling a few items around my house on ebay. I'm creating a new paypal account and was wondering if I should use a business or a personal paypal account? I possibly plan on becoming a regular seller on ebay if I come to enjoy it. I've read that having a business account may give you more seller protection. Also when you sign up for a business account it asks for your legal business name. What would I even put for that option?

Hello @shanebobane,

Thanks for reaching out on our Community Forum. That's a great question! At this time Seller Protection does not vary between a Personal and Business account, however there is a difference in Personal Payments and Goods / Service payments. Since you'll be selling through eBay, those payments would be considered a Goods and Service payment. Here's more information on what's covered by Seller Protection. I would recommend just selling as a Personal Account at this time.

Have a great day and best wishes selling!
