I sold an item in ebay. The guy that bought it asked me to purchase a giftcard to be sent with the item. I told him I won't buy the card with my own money. He said PayPal is holding the payment?

SCAM they don't want your item, they won't pay you, all they want you to do is let them have the gift card number and then you won't hear from them again.

OR they get you to send the gift card and item with FAKE paypal messages saying your funds are on hold until you supply tracking but the funds won't SHOW in your balance so you know its a scam.
