I am interested in buying a phone on Gumtree and seller has sent me a PayPal.me link.
I have an option to pay for goods and i can add a description of the item myself but seller has given no description.
Will i get 100% buyer protection even though the seller has not described the item?

You would be covered by non receipt BUT it may be difficult to prove SNAD if there is no description for paypal to view on the dispute process.
I think your best bet is to go and read up on paypals buyer protection policy and then risk assess your transaction as that protection is never a 100% coverall.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Yes it is confusing because according to PayPal - "If your eligible purchase doesn’t arrive, or doesn’t match the seller’s description, we can reimburse you."
So in this instance only the buyer can describe the item and for a SNAD case i doubt PayPal will refund. I will ask seller to send invoice instead.
